Research position at New York Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University, funded by the Fulbright Commission / Royal College of Surgeons Scholarship, supervised by Prof R Kiran. I aim to perform a series of epidemiological studies investigating outcomes from rectal cancer, in order to ascertain the optimum treatment for different stages of rectal tumours. We hope to establish a novel evidenced-based strategy or algorithm, enabling clinicians to match patient factors and tumour specifics to the various treatment modalities and combination options, and to tailor their therapy accordingly, in order to improve outcomes and enhance the quality of patient care.

Cancer Research UK Colorectal Tumour Biology Group.I completed a two-year period of research towards an MD, while off programme from general surgical training. My thesis is investigating the role of Aspirin in enhancing the response of colorectal cancer cells to radiotherapy.
