This involved the initial planning of the project, a preliminary literature report, a preliminary risk-assessment and an updated risk assessment once in the field, data collection, geological mapping, data interpretation and a final written report.Modules studied at stage 3:Engineering GeologyGeoresources and ExplorationGeophysicsAdvanced TectonicsGeological Mapping and Professional SkillsModules Studied at stage 2:Igneous and Metamorphic PetrologyStratigraphy and Earth HistoryPalaeontology and SedimentologyGeospatial TechniquesGeological Mapping and SkillsWhilst studying I was also elected to become vice-president of the Plymouth University Geological Society during my second stage, subsequently I was elected to become president for the following academic year.Whilst I was both vice-president and president of the society I was responsible for chairing regular meeting with the other members of the committee, this was usually a group of 7-10 other members.I would ensure that the society worked in collaboration with the Students Union to ensure that our members made the most of their time at the university studying Earth Sciences through providing regular social meetings as well as organising guest speakers and extra-curricular field trips. I was also able to use external links to provide merchandise for our members to purchase.
