As a Democracy Fellow, my primary goal was to facilitate civic engagement on the Agnes Scott College campus. I achieved this by promoting and planning civic engagement events on campus, connecting with student organizations to identify how their interests align with civic engagement opportunities, and collaborating with nearby colleges such as Emory University to host events on issues related to democracy.

As a Human Rights Program Intern, I primarily conducted research on contemporary human rights issues, presented research to groups of fellow interns and program staff, and attended weekly program meetings to assist with strategic planning and organizing events. Additionally, I collaborated with HRP interns and staff to monitor human rights violations across the globe and to develop effective strategies to address these violations through the Human Rights Program.

My work as a SUMMIT Peer Advisor involves mentoring students through transition to college, co-facilitating presentations on topics such as study skills and on-campus resources, and holding individual meetings with students to develop time-management plans.

Through my work as a writing and speaking tutor, I worked with individual students to develop communication and critical thinking skills. I also gave in-class presentations on topics such as analysis and citations to groups of approximately 20 students.

As a community mobilizer for Stacey Abrams' gubernatorial campaign, I spoke to over 200 individuals and assisted them in developing a voting plan for the 2022 midterm elections. I utilized social media in various ways, such as conducting Instagram polls, to communicate with individuals and connect them to resources pertaining to voting rights.

My primary duties for this role at Arden's Garden included taking orders for customers, executing these orders according to their individual specifications, and conducting transactions for cash or card payments. Additionally, my shift lead duties involved keeping records of the amount of cash in the register and delegating opening and closing responsibilities to my coworkers.

As the Foster Administrative Liaison for LifeLine Animal Project, I served as a key point of contact between foster parents and DeKalb County Animal Services. I communicated directly with potential foster parents to match them with potential foster dogs, scheduled appointments at our on-site clinic for foster dogs and cats, and connected foster parents with resources for pet training and adoption. I also assisted with creating bite reports for DeKalb County Animal Services and conducting meet and greets between foster parents and potential foster dogs.

I created a comprehensive manual of community resources for formerly incarcerated parents preparing for re-entry, wrote and distributed monthly newsletters for incarcerated parents, and hosted community events such as a game night for caregivers of children with incarcerated parents. I also presented on developing LGBTQ-inclusive workplaces to my supervisors and other interns at Foreverfamily.
