I'm a physiologist in the Social, Cognitive, and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) Lab at The University of Arizona interested strategies to improve sleep and health among shiftworker populations, given the elevated risk of cardiometabolic dysfunction and mood disorders in this population due to circadian misalignment. My current research focuses on nocturnal wakefulness, cognition, and eating behavior. I’m broadly interested in sleep and diet, women's sleep, and novel therapeutics and wearables. With a background in environmental biology and microbiology, I strive to bridge the gap between human and environmental health. I’m particularly passionate about policy around urban light and noise pollution, due to their sleep-disrupting nature, along with initiatives to enhance green and blue zones and neighborhood quality. I have a Graduate Certificate in Science Communication from The University of Arizona and have written about science and health for The Conversation, Elemental+, Green Valley News, Peaceful Dumpling, and various publications on Medium.
