MSc Marine Biologist | PADI Divemaster | HSE Commerical Diver | Apnea Total Advanced Freediver | CAA Commercial Drone PilotA marine biologist with extensive remote tropical field experience, my work has focussed on elasmobranch ecology, and the use of non-invasive survey techniques. After graduating from Plymouth University with a first class BSc (Hons) Environmental Science, I went on to obtain my Master’s degree in Marine Biology from The University of the Algarve (Portugal). I achieved 95% for my thesis, which investigated the drivers of abundance for reef sharks in the Cayman Islands, and received Portugal's Merit Scholarship Award, given to the top students in the country. From Southeast Asia to the Maldives to the Caribbean, I have conducted research with organisations including The Manta Trust, The Cayman Islands Department of Environment, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Operation Wallacea and LAMAVE Philippines.2023 saw me develop my co-founded research project (ARRI), using aerial monitoring via drones to survey the coastlines of two islands in Thailand for ghost gear and marine megafauna, and collaborate with local organisations to restore the reefs.I am currently consulting on shark research project proposals, and am now looking for the next field-based role to dedicate my time to.
