Howdy. My name's Kat (well Kaitlin in full, but Kat has a more consistent spelling), and I'm pleased you stopped by. I'm a budding graphic designer who is passionate about creating effective communication through art and design. Designing and finding the perfect outcome for clients is a goal that is both exciting and perfectly challenging: the best of both worlds for a creative! I enjoy working with Adobe Creative Cloud, and have taken the extra steps to secure diplomas and certifications in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to guarantee my expertise with these programs. Illustrating is my strong suite, but I love to play around with all sorts of things from icon design to typeface creation to photo manipulation, and more. I'm most interested in fields like book cover or poster design, but I can see myself being an excellent addition to any creative team. My additional education in digital marketing and web design help me in knowing how and why my designs will be applied, and help offer more integration possibilities. Outside of my design life I'm a multi-faceted woman: a mom to my young son (and his army of Minecraft gear); wife to wonderful husband who tries to make me faint daily with his tales from his career as a firefighter/EMT; proud owner of two awesome dogs and a cat; and an aspiring caretaker for several plants (aspiring in that I am not very good at keeping them alive). In my free time I'm still involved in any and everything creative. I originally went to school for opera and music theater so singing is a constant in my household, and I also run a small craft shop from home where I create knit, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, metal stamped, and vinyl designed projects for friends, family, and clients. Other interests include: reading, going to the mountains, and trying to be in the right place at the right time to be in a thunderstorm.
