I'm a police detective-turned-pet detective, author, founder of Missing Pet Partnership, and current Director of Missing Animal Response Network (MARN), an international network of volunteer and professional lost pet recovery specialists / pet detectives (some with search dogs trained to find lost pets). My vision (since 1997) has been to train resources to find lost pets so that more families who are seeking assistance when searching for a lost pet can find the help they need. FounderMissing Pet Partnership Dec 2001 - PresentKat Albrecht is a former police officer, field training officer, police detective, and K9 (police bloodhounds and cadaver dogs) trainer turned pet detective. In 2001 Kat founded Missing Pet Partnership (MPP), a national nonprofit organization that worked to pioneer the concept of community-based lost pet services. In 2017, MPP dissolved and Kat started the Missing Animal Response Network (MARN) where she continues her training program. MARN members are pioneers of cutting edge lost pet recovery techniques like pet detectives with search dogs, lost dog protests, window tagging to market lost dogs in a community, and motion activated wildlife cameras with feeding stations to detect and capture displaced/lost cats.
