I am a long-time certified Translator and Interpreter in Hungarian-English and vice versa. I received my certification when I lived in my home country, back in 1988. In my childhood I lived in an English-speaking boarding school, as a result, I am truly bilingual. When I lived in Hungary I studied to be a Mechanical Engineer. During my college years and my young adult working years, I was a technical translator and interpreter (side-job) for 10+ years. At that time, I did a lot of editing and proofreading other Hungarian translators' work, since I had strong language usage skills in English. When I moved to the US 27 years ago, there was not much opportunity to use Hungarian. I worked as a Technical Writer, then later I changed professions into the Medical field. I now work as a Radiologic Technologist. As a result I have very diverse vocabulary - I feel at home in general technical, as well as medical terminology. I wrote educational quizzes in all subjects for Elementary through High School level through an online website for 4 years (freelance, flex-time). I also recently completed my Court Interpreter certification here in California as well as the National Medical Interpreter certification.Interpretation opportunities are rare and far in between. I need a week or two to schedule the time to do interpretations - currently I'm available on Mondays and Wednesdays for interpretations. I am very flexible and always available for written translation assignments that I can do at home in my evenings, and weekends. I do certified translations of various official documents also.
