I managed a team of molecular biologists and bioinformatics to identify novel functions of genes that promote tumorigenesis using molecular and genomic approaches. In collaboration with Dan Tenen's group of NUS and Harvard University, we characterized new RNA processing functions of transcription factors that are associated with leukemia. In a separate study, our team used machine and deep learning to predict novel RNA-binding proteins and discovered new functions for HSP90a in RNA processing. These studies may provide new avenues for therapeutic intervention in human cancers.

Our six person consulting team carried out a study for Malaysia-based Elite Advanced Materials (EAM) Sdn Bhd on the high-grade chemical solvent market. We provided data-driven strategic recommendations within the scope of EAM's needs to facilitate their market expansion into Singapore. My role was to investigate Singapore's market size, product pricing, and government regulations for operation and to devise strategies based on my analysis.

Sanford Consortium For Regenerative Medicine

As a fellow in Yeo lab, I integrated biochemical and genomic methods to characterize the RNA processing functions of proteins associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). These studies leveraged stem cell reprogramming to create motor neurons differentiated from ALS patient-derived iPSC and genomic methods (RNA-seq and CLIP-seq) to map genome wide RNA targets and binding sites of our proteins of interest.
