Modul University Dubai was established as a branch of Modul University Vienna, an international university for business and economics, with a strong research focus on international management, service-related industries, tourism, sustainability, data science, and the design of information systems.During her time at Modul University, Katarina headhunted and recruited high academic and managerial profiles such as PHD Scholars, Chairs, Senior research fellows, Senior lecturers, Associate professors and Full professors. She proposed permanent and affiliate faculty staff, conducted orientation sessions for new recruits and managed faculty departures for academic matters, managed faculty workload and monitored payments for part-time faculty.In parallel, Katarina oversaw syllabi for general education, business, tourism, sustainability and media courses taught at foundation, undergraduate and MBA levels, monitored progress of research papers at Modul’s Center for Sustainability through Research and Development (CSRE), liaised with faculty on all academic matters, University interactions and experiences, supervised faculty participation in marketing activities at the University (monthly newsletter involvement, events, open days and education conferences), acted as a student-faculty conflict mediator, facilitated semester conferences and senate meetings, updated and improved the faculty manual and course catalogs.Finally, Katarina played an integral role in licensing and accreditation processes in the UAE (CAA, KHDA).
