I am a natural scientist with a passion for data. I have used my skills in hypothesis testing, statistics, quantitative and qualitative analysis and programming in R to find solutions to complex problems in reproductive biology and endocrinology. I believe that these skills combined with my profound ability to detect patterns in complex datasets and visualise findings and make them accessible to diverse groups of people enable me to also find solutions for complex business problems. I have worked in both South Africa and the USA and successfully collaborated with 16 professionals resulting in 32 scientific publications and 2 popular science articles. I have presented my work at 17 conferences in South Africa, Europe and the USA and I also have a passion for sharing my knowledge with students and the general public having given more than 100 presentations to different audiences. I frequently assist students and co-workers with their data analysis and R programming and give advice on the right statistical analyses. 7 students have directly benefitted from my expertise in finding insides using data and all have become successful professionals.Key skills:• Quantitative and qualitative analysis of complex datasets using Microsoft Excel, SPSS and the R language which has resulted in the analysis and publication of 14 large studies.• Strong written and oral communication skills which have resulted in the publication of 34 articles, 3 SOPs, many reports and more than 100 presentations for a variety of audiences.• Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts combined with a thirst for knowledge which makes me a quick and enthusiastic learner.I have a passion for the natural environment and love to experience wildlife and nature in many countries. This is evident in my work to date but also in my hobbies which include hiking and nature photography. I am happiest when I can experience the outside with my rescue dog who is the perfect companion. I also volunteer as a dog trainer as I love to provide other people with the ability to better understand their canine partners. After 15 years in the bushveld of South Africa and another 1.5 years in the bluegrass of Kentucky, USA, I am now looking for new opportunities in the “prairies” and forests of Germany.
