I've been working in plant nurseries for the last five years. While working I completed Montgomery College's Certificate in Landscape Technology program. I cannot recommend the plant courses at MC enough for anyone looking to learn more about gardening. Steve Dubik has obviously poured so much passion and knowledge into it. I'm always independently studying. Like the planet Earth, the fields of environmental science, horticulture and design change faster than one person could entirely keep up with. I love knowing that there will always be something new for me to discover. Just as valuable has been the practical application of this knowledge and the learning of so much more at both Seasons and Meadow's Farms Nurseries. I've learned from bosses, co-workers, customers, the plants, and by paying attention to my own natural reaction to different plants and designs. I'm so grateful for how willing so many talented gardeners have been to share their knowledge and experiences. I've discovered a great love of gardening these past five years. I try out the different things I've learned. I bring home so many wonderful plants from work. I learn, as always, from my parents. Most importantly the act of cultivating my immediate surroundings alongside my family brings me so much satisfaction, and the landscape itself sparks joy every time I see it. I want to share this joy with as many people as possible, and I think this is evident in my work advising customers on their landscaping journey. I love it when people come back for more plants and update me on their landscapes. I would like to explore more of the facets of the landscaping world. My knowledge, empathy, patience and drive make me uniquely suited to engage people in gardening and what best suits them.
