About Kate Avila

I am a current Speech Language Pathologist, in my clinical fellowship year, personally driven by making a difference in other's live through evidence based, best practice therapy. My passion is seeing other's hard work pay off, as a result of proper implementation of therapeutic techniques and strategies for speech and communication. I enjoy working with clients across the lifespan as there is so much satisfaction and fulfillment received in meeting and impacting as many lives as possible! I enjoy challenges and have strengths in seeing the big picture, communicating with others and making them feel heard, creating an environment that they are able to relax in. Listening to others is at the forefront of my professional beliefs, as the most successful treatment plans are those that take into consideration both the needs and wants of others.My educational experience allowed me vast opportunities in long-term acute care, acute care and elementary/middle schools. I am currently starting my career at Northwest Allen County Schools in Fort Wayne, IN, in secondary education at Maple Creek Middle School, Carroll Middle School and Carroll High School.
