I am an experienced freelance storyteller, journalist, editor and communications professional. I specialize in research, technical, extension and profile pieces. I have extensive experience writing agriculturally-focused pieces. I also write about health and wellness topics from the lens of a high-performance athlete in athletics.As a national team athlete and freelance journalist, I understand the importance of hard work, time management and competitiveness to achieve success. I face these concepts every day through balancing writing assignments and sport. I compete at an elite level in track and field and cross country. My main events are the 5,000m and 10,000m. With the unique combination of communication skills, agricultural knowledge and athleticism, I am eager to partner with brands that are interested in joining Team Kate and open to collaborations as a pursue my goals of representing Canada on the world stage, running fast and staying healthy!I grew up on a cash crop and cow-calf beef operation in Central Ontario and in 2017, I completed my bachelors degree in agricultural science at the University of Guelph.I am passionate about agriculture, food, sustainability and healthy living. I love helping companies tell their stories through an authentic voice as well as providing farmers with the information they need to make informed decisions for their operations.
