Working for a small charitable trust means that my job crosses over several sections of the business. I am one of 5 members of staff who run the entire museum built by the trust. I was one of the first employees they took on whist completing a £3.5 million building project. My job title is fundraising assistant which includes identifying and assisting with the submission of grant applications. My largest success in this area was being awarded a grant from Armed Forces Community Covenant scheme of £120,000 it is the second largest grant they have ever made. I am also responsible for organising and managing events including the finance side, budgeting, marketing, promotion and public relations. I have recently organised a dinner at Blenheim Palace with Dan and Peter Snow which sold out within 3 weeks, the tickets were £100 each making over £20,000. I am the main point of contact for our donors including corporate clients as well as some celebrities and wealthy individuals. I have raised in excess of £500,000 since starting this role. This is not my only role within the museum; I have bought in much needed skills to the business including, process management, social media and website management as well as all aspects of office administration and customer services. I also train new staff and volunteers.

I was account manager for KCI’s two biggest accounts in the UK, Addenbrookes Hospital and Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, whom I personally visited for meetings. I also headed up a project to streamline the companies archive system which was so successful I not only orchestrated it in our Oxford based head office but also our Manchester service centre. As well as external customers I had a great working relationship with our key account managers as well as service technicians and office based staff. I left KCI after nearly 8 years as I was offered the chance of a promotion at Euronet UK.
