I'm a Mum, farmer, cider maker, lecturer, woodland creation officer, founder of ‘Kate’s Country School’ and STEM ambassador. Media work includes being the first BBC’s ‘Lambing Live’ family, presenting numerous wildlife films for The One Show and six years as health & welfare reporter on Channel 4’s Crufts. I was speechless (which is very rare) to be awarded an MBE in 2020 for services to agriculture and made and an associate (ARAgS) with the Council for Awards of Royal Agricultural Societies (CARAS). Like many Welsh farmers, we manage environmentally friendly habitats on our 300 acre, carbon neutral farm alongside food production. I work three days a week for the charity ‘Stump Up For Trees’, developing tree planting schemes on farms. I'm also a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), a Senior University Fellow with 27 years’ experience lecturing in Animal Welfare and Conservation, have full membership with The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (MCIEEM).and am a Deputy Lieutenant for Gwent.
