Literacy is personal, social, technological and collaborative. I am a firm believer that children learn most effectively in an environment of positive relationships between the school, the teacher and the parent; an environment in which the whole child is respected and celebrated. I work alongside students and in alliance with teachers, therapists and parents to help students focus on the strategies needed to work towards their goals.My experience of teaching Grades 1 and 2 in Africa and China, and my position as Literacy Coordinator and Learning Support Teacher at ISS have deepened my understanding of both teaching and learning from both a management and homeroom perspective. I love the craft of creating flexible sequences of learning experiences that can guide students towards a particular understanding. I am seeking employment in Hobart, Tasmania
