In my role as Senior Industry Officer (Domestic) I work as part of the work-integrated-learning team within the Business School, focused on supporting employability and work-integrated-learning programs for Business School students.

Whilst attending the Global Internship Conference in Dublin in 2015, I heard of CAPA, The Global Education Network, a education provider of experiential learning opportunites to US University students in South America, Asia, Europe, The United Kingdom and Australia. During my 2 years with the company, my expertise as a networker and project manager, were tested as the program experienced unprecidented growth in internship placements.Outcomes achieved - Managed 44% growth in Spring 2016 internship program ( January to April), sourcing 27 new internship sites to host students- Secured a total of 42 internship sites during the academic year 2015-2016, of note Michael Crouch Innovation Centre, UNSW, Bondi Beach Surf Club and the Sydney Story Factory, Redfern.- Administered the successful placement of 290 CAPA Internship placements during the academic year 2015-2016- Maintained key relationships with CAPA's suite of high quality partnerships including the Sydney Opera House, Art Gallery of NSW by regular site visits, phone conversations and emails.- Developed and implemented new application procedures with pre-arrival student / internship site skype interviews- Delivered and devised CAPA internship orientation programs and workshops- Mentored students when required during each internship placement person- Developed CAPA Sydney's Sports Management Partnerships including the Invictus Games, Athletics NSW, Sports NSW, National Rugby League Clubs ( Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs/ South Sydney Rabbitohs/ Parramatta Eels) and Football Federation Australia.

Key to my role as Internship Coordinator at the University of Sydney was the development and implementation of the research internship program. The research internship program was a compulsory part of the Brazilian government student study abroad program ' Science without Borders - enabling students to study globally and fully funded for a year. I saw 400+ students enrol in the research internship during my time as coodinator - a program I am extremely proud to have been part of.Outcomes Achieved- Managed unexpected growth in the Sydney Abroad Internship program , increasing student research internship placements by 500% between academic years 2013- 2014 ( 2013- 58 student interns / 2014 – 296 student interns)- Acquired new research internship partners in the field of Science, Medicine and Engineering to manage demands of diverse student cohort.- Placed study abroad and exchange students on a ‘best fit’ basis at one of the programs 80 industry internship partners- Developed and maintained a student and partner data base- Maintained strong business relations with existing internship partners through email, phone and onsite visits.- Established new internship partnerships through active promotion of the program via email, phone and in person visits.- Collaborated with academic staff on development of new research syllabi for internship unit- Developed and presented student workshops to students enrolled in the internship program- Supervised staff, structuring their administrative tasks to enable program growth and development.- Co-ordinated major events including the internship orientation, Internship partner formal networking dinner and end of semester student farewell function.

My passion for education abroad and developing global perspectives, was perfectly matched to a role I held for six years at the International Office, Sydney University. This role enabled me to make education dreams come true for students with a passion for learning in situations that often pushed them outside of their compfort zones and into the unknown. It was ever so rewarding assisting students become part of the global community.
