Kate carried out her solicitor training at the leading Media Law firm David Price Solicitors & Advocates between 2000 and 2002. She trained in Defamation Law, assisting in libel actions for and against publishers including Associated Newspapers Ltd, publishers of the Daily Mail and Evening Standard, and the Daily Telegraph. Kate qualified as a Solicitor in 2002, on secondment to the high profile Media Law firm, Simons Muirhead & Burton, in Soho, London. She acted for celebrity clients and individuals charged with serious Fraud and other criminal offences. She conducted appeals in the Privy Council from former commonwealth countries in criminal and civil cases. She has represented chiropractors in Disciplinary proceedings before their regulatory body, the General Chiropractic Council, and has advised and worked for an international regulatory body, the ACCA, regulating accountants in the Professional Conduct Department.In 2007 Kate qualified as a Barrister, specialising in Criminal Law and Litigation in the Crown and Magistrates Court. Owing to her training in Defamation law Kate edits books, and offers libel-reading services to authors and publishers. She has edited the second edition of the practitioner's textbook, "Defamation Law Practice and Procedure", written by David Price QC and published by legal publishers Sweet & Maxwell, as well as the historical fiction novels The Myth of Sparta, The Return of the Spartans, and The Silk Brief, written by John M Burton QC.
