I draw on elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Compassionate-Focused Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy with an emphasis on trauma-informed care. I help clients develop skills and tools to navigate through life hardships.I enjoy working with folks dealing with depression and anxiety, life transitions, identity shifts and relational dynamics. I particularly enjoy exploring shifts in parenthood whether that is becoming a new parent, “empty nester” or struggling to achieve parenthood of your desire (natural conception, fertility-assisted conception, adoption, surrogacy).

Review documentation for accuracy and regulation compliance including client files, invoices, reports.Assist in compliance monitoring programs which the city has funded.Process invoice submissions for payment to contracted agencies.Assist in contract execution; managing communications between city business support and contracted agencies.

Assist department in achieving goals of grant administration, Housing development and community engagement

-Oversee operations of the outreach and day shelter programs, and the COVID19 hotel shelter program during the peak of the pandemic-Supervise staff teams to foster both team efficiency and individual staff professional development-Work collaboratively across agency programs to move clients from homelessness to housing and inform policies and practices of our programs-Communicate with community partners in both larger work groups and agency to agency partnerships to best respond to the needs of our shared population-Manage the By Name list for Asheville/Buncombe county and participate in Coordinated Entry meetings-Participate in work groups with city and county staff to diversify and strengthen our Coordinated Entry system in Buncombe county-Complete required reports for grant programs and utilize HMIS daily to manage data of individuals accessing Homeless Services (an average of 150-200 individuals access the day shelter daily)-Manage Homeless Services budget including staff salaries/benefits and client service costs in coordination with the Grants Manager and Finance department

I provide program oversight of the homeless street outreach team. We focus on engaging unsheltered individuals to connect with housing and other needed services such as mental health, primary care, substance use treatment, and income. Our outreach programs include PATH, a public library outreach worker and a City of Asheville outreach worker. My job responsibilities include case management, data management and reporting, staff development and community engagement.

-Assist clients in finding permanent housing and providing support with adjusting to life in their new home-Connecting clients with other agency supports such as mental health services or in home health care-Educating community partners about the Housing First model, Fair Housing and the mission of Homeward Bound-Managing client files and proper documentation of program statistics

-Collaborate with school counselors and teachers to strategize on effective practice skills to utilize with clients-Assist clients’ families with accessing needed resources in the community-Meet one hour weekly with at risk youth to help build positive supports and assist youth in goal settingDeveloped, implemented, and co-facilitated a GLBT support group at a local high school-Assisted in facilitating workshops with students and volunteers on proper mentoring skills and healthy relationships

-Structure the shift, coordinate activities, and implement treatment services for at risk adolescents in residential treatment center-Educate clients on more effective coping and life skills by facilitating social skills training, an anger management group, and a moral reasoning group -Assist Program Manager in supervision of residential staff and volunteers-Maintain documentation of client treatment-Received Qualified Mental Health Professional status in North Carolina in May 2010
