Kate is currently working a principal consultant for cbec -eco-engineering, a small, environmental consultancy specialising in river restoration. Kate's main role within the company is business development and project management as well as leading on stakeholder and community engagement tasks. Kate has over 25 years’ experience in environmental management, specialising in river and water resource management. She has a sound technical knowledge of river restoration techniques and processes and extensive project management skills and has experience of working for Government Agencies (EA and SEPA) and the private sector (Tweed Forum, RAFTS and RFFT). Kate has Project Managed one of the Scottish Government’s first catchment wide multi barrier easement projects from feasibility, through to delivery of works at the first two sites and has a strong skill set in the current Scottish Governments restoration priority areas- barrier easement and urban river restoration. Having worked on the Controlled Activities Regulations since their introduction to Scotland in 2006, Kate has a sound understanding of the resulting legislative requirements across all regimes. During her time as a freelance environmental consultant, Kate has acted as an environmental manager and environmental clerk of works and was responsible for compiling supporting information documents to obtain the relevant licences and regulatory consents. Throughout her career, Kate has successfully networked and mediated with a wide range of statutory and non-statutory organisations and has extensive experience of stakeholder engagement.She has a wide range of experience including project managing fish easement and river restoration projects and hydropower project. In addition to the technical aspect of her work, Kate has experience in stakeholder engagement and has successfully networked and mediated with a wide range of statutory and non statutory organisations, communities and individuals. .
