• Provide business planning, governance and change management for GeoPlace to ensure that the LLP can meet its stakeholder, user and Board requirements as effectively and efficiently as possible. GeoPlace’s role is to create and maintain the National Address Gazetteer Database and the National Street Gazetteer Database for England and Wales. It is jointly owned by Local Government Association representing local government, and the Ordnance Survey.• Lead the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Programme across GeoPlace introducing business change to provide strategic business and IT alignment for an organisation with an expanding remit and growing staff numbers. The EA Programme is being built incrementally to align, and work in parallel, with in house developed management systems certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001. In combination these allow GeoPlace to maintain agility and flexibility of operations and development in a dynamically business changing environment, whilst at all times continually improving business management and performance.• Management of a team with responsibility for : business architecture and governance, performance management, programme management, Management Systems (quality, security, business continuity, risk), IT services and operations, and HR.

Associate Director with responsibility to ensure IA fulfilled its contractual obligations for the Mapping Services Agreement (MSA) contract and others. Additionally responsible for the management and maintenance of the Quality Management System, Programme Management and Bid Management across the company. To secure the commitment of Local Authorities to all aspects of the NLPG and NSG process, and embed the NLPG as the key geo-spatial referencing system for England and Wales. • Contracts and Quality Manager with responsibility for managing the provision of the Mapping Service Agreement (MSA) contract which provides a range of mapping, data and support services for use in local authorities across Great Britain. Intelligent Addressing specialises in information management services for addresses, land and property data and street data. • Managing the introduction and roll out of improvements to working procedures across the company through the development of QMS and ISMS and subsequent certification to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 respectively

• Intelligent Addressing; Business consultant with responsibility for developing the business processes for Intelligent Addressing to support the requirements of the new Mapping Service Agreement contract, and also planning and implementing the required change across the business. This includes implementation and project management for an in house Business Management System to record and monitor business performance as well as providing standards expertise in BS7666 and related ISO standards.• Review of BS 7666 Secretariat for the project team responsible for the review of BS 7666 the British Standard for Spatial datasets for geographical referencing • Definitive National Addresses – Scotland (DNA-S). Production of a specification, guidelines and change management processes for the Corporate Address Gazetteer.• Project Acacia. Joint Project Manager for joint programme for the Ordnance Survey, Land Registry, Registers of Scotland, the Valuation Office, the Local Government Information House and Royal Mail to develop a single national infrastructure of definitive addresses in GB.• Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland (OSNI) and Ireland (OSi).Cost-Benefit Analysis Study to assess the impact of migrating from Irish Grid to the Irish Transverse Mercator map projection. • Production of a draft British Standard for people referencing (BS 8766), for BSI IST/36 Standards Committee for Geographic Information. • Secretariat for BSI IST/36 Standards Committee and liaison with other National, European and International standards bodies.

• Senior Consultant on business analysis project for English Nature, to assess and advise on use, and provision, of geographic information as a corporate asset across the organisation. • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consultant for Operations Centre Control (security) System for major international oil company. Requirements specification for GIS System crucial for safe operating in politically unstable parts of the world.• Led data analysis study for major international oil company as part of corporate wide Information Indexing Project. Defined a set of information management standards for all exploration data world-wide. Used structured data analysis and object oriented analysis. • Consultancy project to compile final report of the National Street Gazetteer for Local Government Management Board. Provides a street standard for use across local government and the Land and Property Gazetteer. Now British Standard BS 7666.• Project Manager for data study to define the street referencing system for the National Street Gazetteer. Produced data model and a unique street reference. Undertaken for the Geographic Information Steering Group representing all local authorities.• Undertook standards work for geographic information. Member of national standards committees. Specific work on data model and data quality for AGI Data Working Group

• Head of Survey and Cartography Section (IT Department). Planned and established new IT section to support user department. Managed team of analysts and large team of software developers. Led Business Study of Survey and Cartography Division using in-house IS Lifecycle Methodology. Used Excelerator Analyst Workbench for data and process modelling.• Consultant Cartographic Systems. Planned integrated development and use of Cartographic and Image Analysis Systems, including Geodetic Software, Map Production System for worldwide exploration mapping and Image Data Catalogue.• Project Leader for survey and cartography software planning and development.
