My name is Kate Dickman, and I am currently in my first year of law school at the University of Wisconsin Law School. In addition, I recently graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a major in Environmental Analysis and a minor in Urban Studies. As a result, I am particularly interested in environmental law, particularly the litigation of environmental crimes. However, I am excited to explore all areas of law during my time in law school. I am passionate about environmental justice and sustainability, both of which I explored during my undergraduate career. During my time at WashU, I interned for various organizations, including legal clinics, non-profits, and government offices. I was also able to volunteer at an environmental law firm. These experiences granted me important knowledge and allowed me to grow personally and academically. Ultimately, as a result of these experiences, I decided to pursue law school. I feel as though being a lawyer will allow me to put my education and expertise to use in a way that promotes equity, justice, and environmentalism.
