I am a Senior Mechanical Engineering and Psychology student at Duke University. I apply an enthusiastic and quality-oriented approach to research and design problems in many different sectors. Coming from a family of healthcare professionals, innovating designs to advance medicinal care and access has been a lifelong passion. I seek environments where I can use my strong technical engineering and communication skills in tandem, to interact with and create devices directly for clients. This has allowed me to perform ethnographic research and create devices for low-resourced Ugandan hospitals, work to create implants matched perfectly to a patient's needs in Indiana, and develop teaching devices for respiratory therapists at Duke. I love to spend time volunteering in my community and have been a major contributor to Duke Canine Cognition Center. Here, I raised four service dogs in my undergraduate dorm! I work to help communities further afield with Duke Engineers for International Development, and was able to manage the design of a recent bridge build in Bolivia!
