For the last nine years I have been working as a private contractor providing dance lessons and choreography to any number of sources. Some of my prominent experiences have been with cheerleading teams, synchronized swimmers, pair’s figure skating, wedding parties, private fitness classes to mothers and infants, and even burlesque fitness classes to eager groups of women in their homes. My freelance work has also brought me into elementary and high schools, throughout London and the Greater Toronto Area, teaching different dance units to a number of age ranges. Some highlights from my professional experiences and continued education include;I. Workshops lead by Mia Michael’s company members, DanceFuzion lead by Annie Wood, classes with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, and recently danced with Nico Archambault II. In April of 2009 I had the opportunity to perform at the CAPHERD Conference Banff, Alberta. III. On December 16, 2009, I had the honour of performing with five Durham region high schools in the finale of the Olympic Torch Ceremony in Oshawa, Ontario. IV. May 13 to 16, 2010 I was invited to the youth dance education workshop series, Pulse, hosted by York University. V. In September of 2010 I had the privilege of being ask to assist in choreographing a dance to help launch Justin Timberlake’s new fragrance, Play, at The Bay. The main focus of my last few years of dance teaching has been in the world of competitive dance. As it brings its own unique focus to dance training, I have had the opportunity to succeed in this challenge. I pride myself on providing students with creative choreography, a unique learning experience, and the drive to perform to the best of their ability. I have helped many students become very successful at competitions and often rise above their preconceived ideas of what they are capable of. It is my hope and pleasure to continue creating innovative choreography and to help young dancers nourish their potential.
