I love to use my skills and unique background to tackle problems and help companies grow and succeed. My background as a greentech startup cofounder and love of solving problems for the user, inspired me to pursue a career in software engineering. Now, I am looking to take on new technical challenges and opportunities for continued growth and learning. I enjoy building responsive web applications, especially with React, and I love to ask questions to understand the bigger picture. I am pursuing a supportive, transparent and collaborative company.I bring qualities to the table such as honesty, clear communication, and problem-solving, in addition to my drive and passion. I take initiative, have strong organizational skills, and I am comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As an IT consultant at Bessemer Trust, I led the development of an internal web application that combines three legacy code lookup applications into one, and provides a fresh user interface and overall better user experience. I gained invaluable hands-on experience developing the new front-end using: React JS, Redux, JavaScript, HTML and CSS. This year-long project was a great opportunity to participate in a project from the ground up, and learn React and Redux on the job. In this role, I enjoyed being able to communicate technical details and share my knowledge with other developers.Working at RETI, a non-profit that works on environmental justice and energy equity, I wore many hats. I have experience in content creation, editing, grant writing, program management, and overall operations management.A little bit more about my self: I am a UNC-Chapel Hill alum, I love being outdoors any chance I can, and I enjoy teaching others and seeing the spark of understanding.

Software DeveloperDatasembly Jan 2022 - Feb 2023- Working hands-on to develop the web application with React and contributed features such as an account details page, product availability insights and an overview page during user onboarding- Collaborate with a small, agile team to deliver a new SaaS consumer products pricing tool, conduct alpha and beta testing and iterate our design - Took initiative to think like the user, spot UX/usability issues, and question areas of inefficiencyWhen I was a full-stack developer on the New Products team, we were getting feedback from frustrated alpha users that their selected products weren’t showing up. I investigated and by digging deeper, it turned out that our database did not have pricing data for those products, and it wasn't an issue with our API calls. I suggested a solution which resulted in adding an overview page that showed which products had zero data, and gave users the opportunity to edit their selections.Product Snapshot (Product Owner)The Product Snapshot started as a collaborative hackathon project, but I took ownership of the development when marketing decided it had real value to bring in new customers. I collaborated with the marketing team to define the requirements, added the new features, cleaned up the bugs and got it ready for public launch. I took the initiative to volunteer for front-end work for internal applications and even helped our Product Manager conduct user testing research of a customer facing feature.- Led design discussion to narrow the focus of the internal monitoring tool, which resulted in a MVP design with the most immediate impact and a manageable engineering effort -

Operations Manager And Content DeveloperRenewable Energy Transition Initiative Mar 2018 - Jul 2019Charlotte, North Carolina• Developed energy education curriculum to instruct over 50 seniors at community center about energy efficiency and heat-wave safety• Communicated our message through our digital/print content, marketing materials and website to grow our digital following and increase our social impact• Collaborated with organizations and communities to build relationships, empower under resourced communities and achieve measurable results for the communityI still remember my first day at RETI (Renewable Energy Transition Initiative), a non-profit that works on environmental justice and energy equity. One of the first things I did was complete a website audit, because during my research, I noticed some bugs and areas of improvement on their website. I bring qualities to the table such as honesty, clear communication, and problem-solving. A month after I started at RETI, I noticed that the amount I was being paid did not match the hours that I worked. I immediately brought it to my supervisor’s attention that I was being overpaid, and I provided a plan to rectify the situation. Working at RETI, I wore many hats because it is a small organization. I have experience as a content creator, editor, grant writer, program manager, and overall operations management. Through my role at RETI, I fostered a partnership with a solar developer and solar financer to provide smart home education and rooftop solar for a family in an under-resourced neighborhood. I designed and implemented the application and selection process of the homeowner, and maintained a relationship with Sharon, the homeowner, and various stakeholders throughout the entire project. I still check-in on Sharon to see how she is enjoying her rooftop solar system. Sharon says that she still loves to watch the meter run backwards when the panels are producing electricity. -

Green Events And Composting InternUniversity Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill May 2014 - Dec 2015Office Of Waste Reduction And Recycling• As an intern in the Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling I practiced clear communication and worked with student groups and faculty to achieve successful outcomes.• Implemented an on-campus residential composting program in 9 communities through collaboration with Residential Hall Association (RHA) and the Environmental Affairs Committee (EAC)• Developed educational material for Green Events training and Residence Hall Composting Program• Engaged UNC students in sustainable initiatives through Green Events and on social media, and updated OWRR web page• Helped organize and promote various zero-waste "Green Events" on campusThe summer before my junior year at college, I worked as an intern of the UNC Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling (OWRR), lifeguarded at the YMCA and took a physics summer course. Earlier that spring, I collaborated with the OWRR director to create an intern position for myself to expand the on-campus composting program. As a member of student government, our committee’s first attempt at a composting program hit many roadblocks my first year. My sophomore year, with a new design, we successfully launched the program in 4 locations, and without losing momentum, I took a deep dive into the program to plan for long-term growth through my internship. Through collaboration and hard work, the program grew from 30 participants to over 200 in two years. The organization structures I put in place have allowed the program to continue to grow after I passed the torch. That summer, I had a very full plate, but I balanced competing priorities, stayed organized and honed in my time-management skills. I also learned that I have limits and by taking time to recharge, I am more productive in my work.
