Lead Archive Technician, Archive/Repository
Responsible for inventory and study material transport, receipt, organization (slides, blocks, wet tissue, data, low temperature samples) and set-up for preparation of long term storage. Work with all species of laboratory animals (and occasionally humans), perform paraffin block sealing, wet tissue bagging, waste handling, facility and equipment recordings and wet tissue inspections for samples received from study and research projects at various Pathology Associates laboratories and client facilities. Assist the Archive Manager in all interactions with archive clients. Understand and conduct all processes in compliance with GLP regulations. Travel to client sites and handle receipt, loading and transport of study related material via commercial carriers or company transport. Provide guidance and leadership to, and determine work assignments for, Archive Technicians and other personnel temporarily assigned to the Archive. Enforce security, train Archive Assistants, participate in developing and improving departmental techniques and procedures. Participate as member of 24 hour emergency call list and respond as needed.
