I leveraged my backgrounds in print and journalism to launch my own writing and graphic design business. During this time period, while actively managing other clients for IdeaFlow, I served as a copywriter for NuGrowth Solutions and its subsidiary, Strategic Insurance Software, delivering monthly blogs, articles, infographics, press releases, web copy, and other digital content.

As a freelance writer and columnist for the Sun Newspapers, I covered municipal and school events and wrote many human interest stories featuring the people and businesses of the City of Fairview Park. In addition, I wrote the weekly West Shore Chatter column, featuring notable achievements and events in Rocky River, Bay Village, and Westlake.

I served as production manager for five years, during which time we tripled revenue and became one of the top grossing shops in the franchise. In addition to managing a growing team of customer service, graphic design, print, prepress, bindery, and delivery personnel, I streamlined production to maximize time and profitability, establishing systems and processes that resulted in the Akron store receiving the International franchise “Best Operations” award in 1997.After five years managing production, I transitioned to a business development role, established a strong referral network, and leveraged consultative solution selling to repeatedly generate over $1 million in annual revenue. In doing so, I earned the international franchise Top Ten Sales Award three times during five years in a network of 300 plus franchisees.
