Kate Slade is a Director, Emerging Technology Enablement at dentsu at dentsu. Colleagues describe her as "Kate's drive to learn all she can about arts management and the state of American cultural policy will make her an excellent candidate in a variety of industries. Working with her on an independent study on Community Engagement was truly a joy, as we had many jam sessions surrounding some of the most relevant issues facing current arts managers: gentrification, the “triple bottom line” of contemporary fundraising, creative place-making, and much more. I know that I would be tickled to have her as a colleague, as she learns quickly and is a very competent communicator. To boot, Kate is a genuinely sweet person. She keeps her sense of humor when things go wrong, while somehow maintaining serious attention to the problem at hand. In other words, she is mature and reliable, and not just in comparison to her fellow students. She also has an excellent reputation with both faculty and staff on campus. She earned this reputation by being the kind of person who can manage her own projects with little oversight from an authority figure. We don’t see many people between the ages of 18 and 22 who already possess that kind of discipline. "
