As Curriculum Lead, I was responsible for: -leading the re-development of the whole-school curriculum to ensure disciplinary and sticky knowledge research is considered and implemented; -managing whole school teaching staff with ongoing curriculum tasks and deadlines, regularly discussing progress and providing/finding the support needed; -monitoring and evaluating the progress of the curriculum in each subject area -leading staff training workshops regarding knowledge progression, teaching examples and deep-dive activities; -working with the School Improvement Advisors to ensure quality of teaching and learning; -developing assessment strategies for foundation subjects that demonstrate children’s retention of knowledge. As KS2 Phase Leader, I was responsible for: -leading the phase in developing and applying consistent approaches for teaching and learning; -performing appraisals for the KS2 teaching team; -school decisions when Headteachers are off-site including, but not limited to; dealing with staffing issues, safeguarding concerns, responding to parent and staff queries; -monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning. I have mentored teaching students, most recently through SCITT pathway in Year 6. I was a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. I was a class teacher, responsible for preparing lesson presentations and resources, including online learning materials where necessary.

I worked in several schools across Lincolnshire after graduating. I had opportunities to perform several roles including SENCo and Phase Leader as well as completing the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership and gaining the Primary Science Quality Mark for a school. As SENDCo, I: -developed good working practices in line with the guidelines for SEND support in schools; -successfully applied for EHC plans, working with professionals and families; -selected and interviewed candidates for SEND support staff roles; -supported staff with strategies, assessments and parental communications; -liaised with external professionals and agencies to ensure the best practises for each individual child was met. For my NPQ Senior Leadership award, I: -planned and executed a whole-school improvement project to improve representation of ethnic diversity and equality in the curriculum, using extensive research to underpin my project aims; -led staff training, mentored individuals and evaluated the project outcomes at regular points. -liaised with governors, the headteacher and the wider community to support and encourage partnerships in the project. To gain the Primary Science Quality Mark for the school, I: -assessed the quality of teaching and learning in school, using the baseline to map out an improvement plan; -collated evidence of improvement for the submission.
