Kate Hewko is Calgary based designer and entrepreneur recognized internationally for her jewelry, faux fur and clothing collections that are always ahead of the trends. Her work is so fierce and groundbreaking she has been featured in magazines such as Vogue Korea, Refinery 29, Fashion Magazine and Flare, and been seen on notable celebrities Miley Cyrus, Adina Menzel and Cyndi Lauper. Kate Hewko’s collections are undoubtedly an outlet for self expression, defying age and the status quo.She opened her cool new Kate Hewko boutique in 2016, working with small manufacturers to produce fashion for the one-of-a-kind: clothing, outerwear, handbags, sunglasses, and footwear. Kate is central to her brand and plays a hand in the creation of all her items either designing them start to finish, or selecting the fabrics, or sourcing the best pre-manufactured gemstones - Kate carefully curates everything and has the final word. Anything in the store is truly a representation of Kate.Her creativity is backed by education and experience as she graduated with a Fashion Marketing Diploma from the International Academy of Design and Technology in Toronto coupled with a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. Knowing this was not enough she hustled and got her start throwing runway shows in Toronto's downtown core. She then moved across the country to apply her skills professionally as buyer for a Vancouver boutique which lead to a position in Marketing for a large Calgary based retail chain. Kate soon after realized her entrepreneurial spirit and opened her own progressive women's boutique in 2007.In 2010 Kate started her beautiful family and kept her hands in the local fashion industry producing and managing large scale fashion events. Jewelry lines were always top sellers at Kate’s boutique, so when she was ready to return, Kate retailed jewelry designers she loves. Quickly this progressed and Kate began designing and producing her own line: Kate Hewko.
