Responsible for• Managing daily operations for the National Coordination Centre (NCC), maintaining daily situational awareness of National and International Events• Ensuring the NCC and the Fire and Emergency desk at the National Crisis Management Centre (NCMC) is maintained in a state of readiness – this includes but not limited to maintenance of ICT equipment, development and delivery of training strategies and procedures, recruitment, training and skills maintenance of staff, developing policies, procedures and guidelines for Regional Coordination Centres (RCC) and NCC, including the and National Response Plan• Liaising with All of Government (AoG) and external stakeholders to share knowledge and lessons from operational reviews and post activation debriefs, to ensure continuous improvement of Coordination Centre Management• Leading a team of Fire and Emergency liaisons for deployment to the Fire and Emergency desk at NCMC and AoG, including management of logistics and training to ensure they can effectively integrate with National Responses• Liaising with the Fire and Emergency National Commanders Group to determine if a National activation of the NCC would add value and to what level• During activation of the NCC I have taken on multiple roles including:o Centre Manager (Response Manager) - managing personnel and performance of the centreo Intelligence – analysing data, gaining situational awareness, developing sitreps & ministerial updates for National eventso Planning – including operational logistics, incident response and contingency planningo Arc GIS assistance –providing operational parameters to build requirements for dashboards/mapping for Fire and Emergency spatial technicianso NCMC liaisono Fire and Emergency liaison for MIQ branch during COVID-19 response

• Worked with senior managers to scope, plan and deliver a Nationwide capability framework for enabling operational personnel to work safely around water – included developing the project plan and business case, engaging Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), developing and implementing a training programme and national deployment of essential safety equipment to fire crews• Researched international and national best practises for water safety for operational personnel• Established and maintained effective relationships with external agencies and other international fire services• Developed operational procedures and guidelines and an online training module• Developed safety equipment requirements & practical trial scenarios and lead the evaluation of all safety equipment during the procurement process• Led national engagements with rural and urban operational management (PRFO’s and Area Managers) personnel to develop national equipment allocation policies• Worked with PRFO’s and Area Managers to tailor comprehensive training packages to ensure urban and rural firefighters had the necessary skills needed to effectively use the new safety equipment and respond effectively and efficiently to incidents involving or surrounding water• Providing operational guidance and strategic advice as the National Advisor for Fire Emergency New Zealand’s Working safely around water project

• Was elected as a Board Member in 2015 and President in 2018 - the Board is formed and represented by the various Fire and Emergency Services in Australasia• Leading an international board of senior representatives• Developing strategic and business plans, annual reports and conference reports• Leading and managing the biennial international conference held in Wellington during 2018• Building and maintaining relationships with CEs and National commissioners from all Fire Services to promote increased under­standing and awareness of the valuable contribution and capabilities that women bring to the firefighting and emergency management sector

Details of work responsibilities• Managing crew and station of 4 career firefighters.• Providing leadership and direction to enable the brigade to meet its obligations and achieve its objectives.• Working with the community establishing and developing relationships with local officials, key employers and other community groups to enhance goodwill and support for both career & volunteerism.• Carrying out command and control functions where appropriate in terms of emergency response where the districts resources are involved.• Ensuring the Brigade Management Committee is effective and functions successfully and working towards station business plan.• Managing the overall administrative and operational functions, with specific attention to the use of SMS, of the district in accordancewith the Brigade annual business plan and budget as negotiated with the Area Manager.• Actively promoting the involvement of brigade members in all brigade activities including the effective use of the Training and ProgressionSystem (TAPS).• Ensuring that brigade members, station, appliances, and equipment are prepared and maintained in an effective state of operational readiness.• Ensuring programmes are in place for the identification, planning, management and review of fire hazards/risks within the district.• Managing the delivery of health and safety training and welfare to brigade members.• Ensuring knowledge and compliance with all statutory obligations and relevant legislation, for example the Fire Service Act 1975 • All other provisions as detailed in the provision of service.• Fire Investigation. • Workplace accident investigation & operational review investigator.• Fire safety promotions region 5.• Technical building inspections and legislation relating to evacuation & building legislation.• Fire safety to preschool & school, delivering firewise program.• Actively prompting and delivering the Fire Awareness and Intervention programme
