Working in Education for over 25 years, initially within the informal and charitable sector through the environmental education movement. Kate moved into formal education, having gained a distinction in Primary Education. She is registered with the GTCS and has taught in a range of schools across Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Perth & Kinross. For the past 15 years, as an Education consultant, Kate has taught in nature kindergartens, schools and early years settings, through her coaching and project work. In tandem, she delivers and designs Continuous Professional Development training courses (face to face, online and webinars) and key-note speeches. Her work takes her throughout the UK, into Europe and beyond (namely, USA, Canada, India and Australia) "I am passionate about working with young people and supporting them to learn contextually where possible. I am often known for teaching and facilitating learning outdoors, but I am happy in a formal classroom environment as well"Through her work at living classrooms she has delivered projects working with communities and people seen to be on the periphery of society- supporting them in raising their self-esteem, life experiences and knowledge base through outdoor education programmes. Kate is a published author, writing learning materials for early years educators and charitable groups.
