City Year is a national non-profit that is dedicated to helping students and schools to succeed. We are partnered with 26 schools throughout the Boston area and work to serve the schools and the communities. As a Corps member, I work to support my student's academic and social-emotional development as well as enhance overall school culture. I serve as a near-peer mentor to 16 10th grade students to develop and implement individual and small group academic interventions. By tracking and analyzing student data, I am able to set individual goals for each student and collaborate to create strategies to help them improvResponsibilities include:-Leading daily after school program monitoring room behavior, tracking sign in/out of students and delegating tasks to co-workers as extended day coordinator: -Scheduling and organizing after school enrichment activities to enhance student relationships and develop key life skills-Engage with local businesses and partners to acquire new resources for students -Communicate with key sponsors to update them on my year of service and further develop relationship as a member of the Red Jacket Society-Support the Civic Engagement Team in coordinating physical service projects for both internal and external volunteers
