The latest development in my career has allowed me to be a bit of a digital nomad, with Phnom Penh as my home base. For the design part of my role, I create maps for clients, develop new designs for pilot projects, and explore wayfinding design standards. The other half of my job focuses on supporting clients that use our software and products.

Having strong visual-spatial skills, I have been able to work with clients in both landscape and graphic design over the past number of years. Freelance work has been an ideal job as it has allowed me to maintain balance throughout my masters. Occasionally I was able to work for a dedicated and creative landscape architect. I have also been able to work on logos and other design endeavours for private clients.

School Of Environmental Design And Rural Development

Working with fourth-year students in the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program was always a highlight of my academic week. It was an honour to be awarded these highly sought after teaching positions throughout my masters. During the Thesis class, I was able to work with students one on one, helping them explore their ideas and navigate the process of translating their passions into an academic paper. I also had the opportunity to work with the fourth-year design class where I was able to give individual critiques to students. They were overall phenomenal groups of students and faculty to work with.

Part TimeWorking at the CFDC I was able to wear many hats. Planning their Annual General Meeting, designing advertisements for new investment programs, and completing communication, advertising, and event planning for their N100 competition were some of the jobs I carried out there. The team at the CFDC is wonderful. It was hard to say goodbye when I moved back to Guelph for my masters.
