Earned my PhD from the Cell, Molecular, Developmental Biology, and Biophysics program at Johns Hopkins University. As a computational biologist, I specialized in biological data analysis and software development in R and Python. My thesis was titled "Computational Modeling of Gene Regulation, Gamete Formation, and Embryo Implantation". I also taught and assisted in teaching several classes as a TA and a Dean's Teaching Fellow.

My duties included making necessary reagents as well as setting up and performing experiments in order to analyze the effects of anthelmintics on N2 C. elegans as model organisms for parasitic worms.

Studied the behavior of arrestin proteins in Aedes aegypti photoreceptor cells through retinal dissection, immunostaining, confocal imaging, and Western Blotting. Also maintained mosquito stocks and performed microinjection, larval fluorescence screening, PCR, gel electrophoresis, minipreps, and RNA purification. At the beginning of the fellowship I wrote and presented a proposal for the work to be completed and presented a poster and talk of completed work at the end of the fellowship.

My responsibilities include onsite paperwork, positioning teams and individuals, answering customer questions, providing change, and taking individual and team pictures.

Work included electrochemical characterization of neural interface devices (Cyclic Voltammetry and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy), data analysis in MatLab and ECLab, and post fabrication device build-up with the bioengineering group in the Center for Micro- and Nano- Technologies. Also worked with real-time PCR to quantify the degradation of DNA after repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Duties include grading General Chemistry lab reports.
