✓ My Mission:Helping people thrive by improving and reinventing the neighborhoods, cities, and communities where they live. ⊰My leadership at the nonprofits I’ve served has opened the doors to the greater health and wellbeing of entire communities.⊱I’m experienced in creating and articulating visions that inspire. I lead energized movements that get everyone so invested, they joyfully pick up a piece of the work. I achieve this by understanding the science behind the big idea, then build a movement to make the idea a reality. I target effective, doable solutions that empower and motivate people to be a part of the movement.“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” – Helen Keller✓ My Motivation:When a community of diverse individuals comes together around an idea, I’m excited to help them incite change.➪ Placemaking:Place impacts the quality of life. As a community, we can change, develop, and create better places. I help organizations prioritize placemaking issues by understanding the trade-offs and financial implications of their proposed plans or ideas. My deep experience in the nonprofit sector fosters efficient decision-making and effective implementation.➪ Where I start: We know a zip code is the best predictor of health quality of life. I begin projects by assessing the zip code and asking questions like:-What are the community characteristics right now: unemployment, obesity rates, food deserts, racial issues, etc.?-How can we improve the zip code so the quality of life increases?➪ About Me:-I’m not much for sitting around a table, talking about doing things. I do them. I know when conversations should stop and action should start.-I stay curious. I embrace challenges, welcome feedback, and love to see others succeed. I’m known for saying, “You can accomplish great things if you don’t care who takes the credit.”-I promote co-creation communities, organizations, and partners, so others own the idea and take it forward. I motivate groups and organizations to enact change. ➪ My Background:Trained social scientist + Post-doctoral work in economicsI have an analytical framework for understanding, organizing, and developing strategies and plans. Leading from this well-grounded foundation creates practical pathways to solutions. Educator + MentorI guide and facilitate the learning processes. I believe in creating educational avenues where learning happens along the way rather than telling people what they need to know.
