I supported the ARC staff to better understand the lives and particular needs of emergent bilingual students both in and out of school as well as ensuring that ARC materials best serve emergent bilingual learners. This included staying current on research in the field of bilingual education, preparing informational materials and trainings for ARC staff, and attending monthly meetings to hear reports from ARC professional developers in the field regarding teacher and student experiences with our materials, and modifying or creating materials as needed.

I created standards-based Informational and Literary Reading and Writing units of study in English and Spanish (Grades K-8).I adapted and translated English-language curricular and educational materials into Spanish (Grades K-8). I transcreated early reader books from English to Spanish to meet the unique needs of Spanish-language reading acquisition (Levels A-L).I adapted CCSS-based curricular materials to address state standards (e.g., Texas, Virginia)

I created and maintained standard wide-reading and thematic libraries in both English and Spanish, and consulted with customers to build custom libraries tailored to the specific needs of their school or district.
