With 20 years of service in the restaurant industry, I can say I love delivering great experience to my guest. Whether, it is serving at a table, behind a bar, or organizing and coaching a staff; to be able to give great, friendly, and informative service. When a manager is knowledgeable about the product and can communicate the knowledge effectively to the staff; the staff in turn will be confident and friendly with the guest. Creating a place where the guests can count on a friendly dining experience is the goal of all professional restaurant operators.The key to effective management is not only being knowledgeable about your craft and product but to be able to communicate this information effectively to your co-workers and staff. Effective communication will ensure your staff and guest have an equally great experience. I regard management as comparable to coaching; a good coach can understand and motivate the team while being tough but fair.
