I am the copy editor or proofreader you want on your team!I was once given a $10/hr raise because my proofreading skills were excellent and so valuable to the geologist I was working for at the time. I proofread his reports and articles for five years, from 2010-2015.I was copy editor for the Los Angeles Pierce College newspaper, The Roundup, for three semesters from 2013-2014, and singlehandedly read and corrected every article published in the paper and online with tight deadlines. I was able to focus intensely in a loud and chaotic newsroom.For 6 1/2 years at Exactuals, I completed manual processes daily to keep bank reconciliations for clients that we made thousands of payments for each day, with many moving parts that required impeccable attention to detail. I had to find and figure out errors that were causing issues so that payments could be made accurately and on time. Basically proofreading but with numbers. I also proofread the monthly internal company newsletter for the last six months of my employment there.I have done numerous proofreading jobs on the side throughout my lifetime, and will never stop editing (in my mind) all the Facebook and Instagram posts, websites, and emails I read.I am laidback and get along with everyone, fun and easy to work with, but intensely focused on getting work done on time, correctly. I'm obsessed with mistake-free writing!
