With an applied physics technical background and experience in working for a Silicon Valley based start up, I have experienced the challenges and opportunities working in research and development both in Australia and overseas. My experience in experimentation, prototyping, implementation, commercialisation of ideas was both exciting and challenging and I saw first hand, there isn't enough support for Australian companies creating new ideas.I moved to R&D tax consulting over fifteen years ago because I am genuinely passionate about helping Australian companies on their R&D journey.Innovation is vital for Australia's competitiveness and the R&D tax incentive program is a great program to help offset the cost of undertaking R&D in Australian industry. I have worked with some of Australia's best innovators from top 10 ASX listed corporates to small start ups. With over a decade in 'big 4' accounting firms KPMG and Deloitte, I have strong experience across many industries with a focus on small to medium companies in the manufacturing, engineering, ICT and biotechnology sectors. My skills are in identifying R&D activities and maximising claims and working with companies to develop their processes for capturing and substantiating their R&D claim. I am also experienced in successfully defending claims to the ATO and AusIndustry and approach each client with a view to ensuring their claims are 'Audit ready'.
