I offer joyful music and movement play opportunities for 2-yr-olds and their families, so that their human need to move, play, make music, sing and dance is met.I have 20+ years experience in this work.I play flute, a bit of djembe and a small amount of ukulele. Development movement play is central to all of my offers.I believe that the body is the first home and movement the first language. I believe that all children are musically competent, and able to express themselves creatively.Parents/carers are the primary educators and must be valued and involved in creative projects as such.

2011-2016 - Maines-Beasley Creative Industries Ltd DirectorI secured Youth Music funding for longer term early years music projects with children, practitioners and families in North Tyneside. CPD was integral to all projects, which I delivered and planned, using external practitioners where required. Reflective practice, effective practice, and leaving a legacy were key. Please ask if you would like to know more about this work. I can share video clips of the work in action with children, practitioners and parents/carers. 2005-2011 - Worldbeaters Music LLP partner - with Chris Maines-Beasley and Alex Tustin. Taught and performed samba in schools and the community, including weekly drumming sessions for all ages from 5 and upwards. Led carnivals and parades all over the North East. Responsible for managing early years project delivery and training.

2002-2007 - The Sage Gateshead Early Years and Family Learning ProgrammeI worked alongside Steph Brandon to set up the Early Years Programme at Sage Gateshead. I was Family Learning Project Leader from 2004. I trained and mentored the growing team. CPD and practice sharing was central to our ethos.
