Profile bio

About Kate Mcilraith

In January of 2017, I embarked a new journey toward becoming a teacher of languages. It was a leap of faith because I had a fulfilling, ten-year career in higher education that I truly enjoyed. However, after spending many hours of every week helping college students explore their strengths and values, I started considering whether I was using my own core strengths in the best way possible. This reflection led me back to my love for language and culture, which I wanted to integrate with my desire to help young people grow into the best versions of themselves. • Experience working with culturally, linguistically, and racially diverse students and families• Ability to build rapport with students and create a positive classroom environment• Skill at integrating technology into teaching and learning• ELL endorsed and SIOP trained• Bilingual English/Spanish• Consistent demonstration of integrity and professionalism • Genuine enjoyment of collaboration and learning

Listed skills include Academic Advising, Student Affairs, Student Development, Student Recruiting, and 15 others.
