Current
Community And Events Engagement Manager
I lead a talented team working across the Audience Insight and Engagement Directorate, mobilising the public to raise awareness, income and change societal norms whilst creating strong strategic partnerships. I am passionate about the importance of delivering a consistent and excellent experience to ensure supporters continue to choose to help our charity, be our voice in their community and build on their desire for change. I continually look for ways to build our movement of change makers in society and use data and insight to help find gaps and opportunities for the organisation.I work closely with teams across the charity, members, agencies and stakeholders to create memorable events, combining virtual and real life elements to meet our diverse audience needs to achieve value and engagement across events.Navigating the challenges of the past two years I have pivoted my working style andadapted to working from home, leading a team located across the country. It has beenimportant to listen to the team and experiment with ways of working. I have worked hard to lowering barriers to communication and collaboration to help build relationships. I encourage autonomy and energy and working with shared sense of purpose. The ambition is to continue to maintain and grow both our supporter base and incomeover the next five years by embedding high value engagement activities and associatedmarketing and stewardship plans.Using insight, testing concepts and learning from events, events within the portfolio have a higher than average ROI, registration and fundraising targets have been smashed . Butequally important is that participants have fed back that they have loved taking part in the event, would attend future events and feel part of a community of like minded people. I manage digital marketing to ensure a low CPM rate, testing creatives, CTA and switching audiences according to performance.
Transformation Programme Manager (Specialising In Events, Engagement And Marketing)
I developed and implemented strategic events and projects to promote and support the delivery of the Trusts vision and Transformation programme . Highlights include:I designed and led an innovative staff engagement programme which has become nationally recognised. I was shortlisted for a Health Service Journal award for the programme and I was invited to speak about my work at the Health and Care Expo 2017 and the 2018 NHS Finance annual conference.I recognised that many staff and volunteers want to have a voice in making change. This collective voice was an incredibly powerful thing and empowered staff at every level, helping to unlock some of the challenges faced across the Trust. The programme aimed to support colleagues to think differently about how effective change practice could lead to better outcomes for patients. We worked directly with patients to hear their views and build services. I learnt and taught others about the art of rocking the boat and staying in it!I had to learn that change starts with me and used stories to engage staff and build a movement of change. I started a movement that genuinely wanted to transform how we worked with colleagues and our community.I engaged stakeholders through forums, informal meetings, employee networks andsurveys. I recognised the need to engage with people in different ways, an example of this was my work with Trust Champions.I created engaging marketing campaigns and communications strategies. I recognised that I had to be adaptable and break with traditional communications in order to reach a diverse audience. I planned and executed events including award ceremonies for over 300 people , events for over 900 guests, and designed Open Days to engage with key stakeholders. The result was an increase in morale and a renewed sense of pride which as a result lead to even better patient care and experience.
