As Principal Consultant Information Specialist, I work on proposal development, advise on strategy development and execution, troubleshoot reference management software, and promote collaborative team-working. My role involves designing and carrying out expert literature searching for systematic reviews, health technology assessments and economic analyses. I work closely with other senior staff to develop and cost up research bids, proposals and tenders.I routinely work alongside reviewers, statisticians and health economists on a wide range of projects to support policy making, licensing and reimbursement decisions, local decision making about commissioning health services, fourth hurdle processes, economic evaluations and guideline development.I enjoy developing and delivering different types of evidence retrieval and systematic review training packages, on a regional, national and international basis. I have provided virtual and in-person practical and theoretical training to diverse audiences, including information professionals, researchers, clinicians, postgraduate students, pharmaceutical companies and governmental organisations.I acted as Chair of the InterTASC Information Specialists' Sub-Group (ISSG) for 2012-2013 and remained an active member of the group until July 2021.
