When looking for a work term after classes ended at NSCC, I tried to look for a challenging experience that I could learn a lot from. Meco Engineering was exactly what I was looking for, a friendly environment with many bright and talented people with the challenge I wanted.During my five weeks there I developed client risk profiles, social media marketing, website design and SEO recommendations, re-designed company templates and for the Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia I helped develop an export survey which then was distributed among member firms. I then collected, analyzed and interpreted the results which I then used to create a PowerPoint presentation for the annual general meeting in June. It proved to be the challenge and experience I was looking for, and it was very interesting learning about engineering as well.

Beginning at NSCC, I studied business administration during the first year, which included taking various business related courses such as accounting, economics, marketing and management. After taking the marketing course, I knew I had found my calling!During the second year I enrolled in the Marketing concentration, learning various aspects like brand management, marketing research and consumer behaviour, to name a few. I really enjoy learning about all forms of marketing and how to apply marketing strategies to obtain the best results. I can't wait to see what the future holds for my marketing career!

At Subway I worked as a sandwich artist, making custom sandwiches and meals for each of my customers. Working for Subway was fun and challenging as we all had to work as a team to ensure our customers food was prepared quickly and neatly as we delivered friendly service.When I became a shift leader at the restaurant I took on more duties like managing my co-workers, daily bookkeeping, and setting and achieving daily, weekly and monthly goals for myself and my team. I really enjoyed working for Subway!
