Advising the business as both Senior Lawyer and Head of Legal Affairs on a range of digital, technology, commercial and corporate matters following the initial acquisition of BBC Magazines by PE and the subsequent growth and onward sale. Specific work includes:- Technology and Commercial Projects and Procurement: procurement of technology infrastructure including networks, telecoms, DR, SaaS, IaaS, marketing database solutions, email service providers, ad serving technology and HR and finance systems.- Digital Media and eCommerce: digital advice including website and app development and support agreements, regulatory compliance, eCommerce, affiliate relationships and developing and maintaining contractual relationships with key digital publishing partners such as Apple, Amazon and Google. Primary legal support for all digital matters which requires an up to date knowledge of new technologies such as programmatic advertising, ad blocking, native advertising, general digital advertising formats and pay and data walls.- Marketing, Advertising and Consumer Regulation: advising the business on all aspects of marketing and advertising law and including applicable consumer regulation, ad approval, competitions, reader offers and other promotions and branded solutions, including whitelabel financial services and travel products/services. - Data Protection and Information Security: legal contact for all data protection and privacy matters including compliance, cross board transfers, infosec due diligence and training.- Licensing: content licensing both inwards for use in magazines, websites, video and broadcast, and outwards to international licensees and syndication partners.- Corporate and M&A: general co sec and M&A project support including acquisitions, disposals and refinancing
