Kate Roddy graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a BSc. in Kinesiology. She completed her Masters of Physiotherapy Studies at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. After two years of clinical practice, she studied and graduated from McMaster's Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program and consistently uses acupuncture in her practice. In 2011, she completed Level 1 and 2 in Functional Movement Screens (FMS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessments(SFMA). The FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness. The SFMA is a standardized clinical model and an extension of the FMS that ensures isolating the cause of injury and efficient care.She has been with the Sport Medicine Clinic since 2007 and previously worked at the Granite Club treating national and international figure skaters, junior swimmers and tennis players.In 2019, she took a greater interest in female pelvic health. Kate became certified in female urinary incontinence, pelvic pain and dysfunction and pregnancy through Pelvic Health Solutions.She is an avid cyclist, runner and swimmer but is well versed with all sport and appreciates how important it is to return to sport/activity in better condition than when you left it.
