I am a qualified designer with broad training in the architecture and the arts. I am deeply committed to architecture that enhances quality of life and has positive impact on communities. I am a sharp thinker with a warm relational style and I enjoy working in creative and values-driven environments. After graduating from a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Literature and Languages) I had seven years with a large healthcare charity, HammondCare. Here I gained extensive and valuable understanding of the importance of research-informed design for people with physical and cognitive impairment. I was engaged in the commissioning of new dementia specific residential services, including the first for young people in Australia. My time in the healthcare sector gave me the inspiration for undertaking a Masters of Architecture at the University of Melbourne (graduating 2016). A highlight during this time of creative exploration was joining building projects in remote Aboriginal communities with Bower Studio. My final year thesis explored the possibilities and limitations of NDIS-funded housing for regional and remote Aboriginal communities.Upon returning to Sydney in 2017, I worked briefly with Matt Elkan Architect on beautiful, highly resolved residential projects on the Northern Beaches. I then joined Stanton Dahl architects for an important period of skill development in documentation, contract and consultant management with educational and ecclesiastical design projects.From 2019 I have been working as a sole practitioner on small residential alterations and additions in regional NSW. I have enjoyed high engagement with the building process and in resolving small detailed projects.My husband I have a full family life as we care for a large family. This has given me a unique insight into the importance of inclusive and equitable public architecture and urban design. When not at the desk, on site or in the thick of family life, I am in the bush, in the water or on a bike!
