For the last 20 years, I have worked with CEOs, Boards and senior leadership teams to help them get unstuck and make progress on what matters to them. Sometimes teams can feel that they are working hard, but not making any real headway. Most often the reason is a lack of alignment within teams or between Boards and leadership teams about what value they are trying to create, and/or how to do that most effectively. The result is people trying to do too much with too little leaving them feeling frustrated and burned out. Michael Porter defines strategy as being 'the art of deciding what not to do'. Good strategy is simple, but simple can be hard, particularly when you are head down in the trenches of day-to-day grind. Most organisations have something called a strategy, they have some combination of vision/mission/purpose/values and they have a plan, but none of this is helping them decide what to do and what not to do.I can help teams to better: - define the impact they want to have/the value they want to create - recognise the challenges, opportunities and implications involved with that- understand what choices they need to be make, and how to make them- develop and execute strategy. I work with clients of all types and sizes from major corporates through to government, start ups and not-for-profit organisations, and across a diverse range of sectors including tourism, tech, retail, primary production, the arts and government.
